Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe today announces that its RB laser technology projectors have been selected by the UGC Group to be used across its four (4) new cinemas. Cinemas in Plaisir, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Lyon in France will benefit from the unsurpassed brightness and rich colour spectrum delivered by Sharp/NEC’s cinema solutions.

Laurent Rieupeyrout, Technical Director of Image and Sound at Cinémas UGC, said, “When it came to finding a partner to provide us with cinema projectors, Sharp/NEC was the obvious choice. Our audiences expect the best quality of image, both in terms of brightness and colour, and the RB laser projectors from Sharp/NEC deliver just that.”

Sharp/NEC worked closely with Cinema system integrators ADDE and CDS to install 47 RB laser projectors in auditoriums across France. These long-term relationships in the cinema industry are fundamental to the work Sharp/NEC does.

Alain Chamaillard, Head of Cinema EMEA and CIS at Sharp NEC Display Solutions, said, “We are extremely excited to see our RB laser technology projectors in the UGC Group’s four new cinemas. I would like to thank the team at UGC Group, as well as our system integration partners ADDE and CDS, for their support in helping us transform the viewing experience for audiences across France.”
