Pixel Global AV delivers rapid lighting install for Brolly Brewing Venue

Pixel Global AV has completed a fast-turnaround lighting installation for Brolly Brewing’s new event space, The Fermentarium, transforming the independent venue into a flexible performance environment just days ahead of opening. The project was initiated in early April following discussions between Brolly Brewing and Pixel programmer Joe Costin, who had an existing relationship with the venue’s owners. With a fixed launch date approaching, the brief was to deliver a DMX-controlled stage lighting system capable of supporting a broad mix of live events, including music and comedy.
Drawing on experience from larger-scale corporate and public sector projects, Costin designed a system tailored to the venue’s requirements, adapting elements from a previous Netherlands-based large-scale enterprise event space deployment to suit the more compact, industrial setting. Equipment was specified and sourced via Thomann GmbH, a German-based retailer of musical instruments, studio, lighting, and pro audio equipment, with kit delivered to the warehouse and taken to site by the engineers.
Working to a tight schedule, Pixel completed the install one day ahead of the venue’s soft launch, two days ahead of the grand opening. The system includes ceiling-mounted truss fixtures and a flexible stage lighting position, all controlled via a DMX controller located behind the bar. This allows staff to manage lighting presets and scenes for different event types without requiring specialist technical expertise.
While compact in scale, the installation reflects the same flexible, scalable approach Pixel Global AV delivers across international projects. The principles applied at The Fermentarium can be extended to larger environments. DMX lighting systems can be integrated into UC systems such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex via third party control systems such as Crestron and Q-Sys to deliver stage quality lighting to UC enabled corporate event spaces.
The completed space is now hosting a varied programme of events, with lighting playing a central role in shaping the overall experience. Joe Costin, Programmer at Pixel Global AV, said: “This might not be our typical project, but it was a great opportunity to support a local business under tight time pressure. It’s a strong example of how the right AV setup can transform a space, giving the client something that’s easy to use, adaptable, and capable of supporting new revenue streams.”
Brook Saunders, Director and Brewer at Brolly Brewing, added: “Pixel came to our rescue. What started as a conversation about running out of time, quickly escalated into a 24-hour response from the team. Within a week, our stage lighting was installed, and our staff were fully trained to operate the DMX controller. Since then, we’ve hosted rock, indie and folk music sessions, as well as comedy nights – each with different moods and lighting requirements, all working flawlessly. The ongoing support has also been fantastic, giving us real confidence as we continue to grow the space and our events programme.”
