    Optoma adds to ProScene family

Optoma has announced two new members of its ProScene installation projector range – the EX855 and EW865 XGA/WXGA 6000/5500 Lumens models.  The ProScene marque was introduced in 2011 and is characterised by interchangeable lenses, high brightness and extensive support. ProScene projectors are available only through certified partners.

Two new members of the ProScene family.

Optoma’s head of product management, Justin Halls commented: “Optoma have listened extensively to the market to understand precisely what is required to succeed in this demanding sector.  Clearly, our projectors must be of the very highest quality and reliability, but perhaps even more critical is that the service and support we provide must be second to none.”

Amongst the many new features of these latest Optoma projectors is a built-in mechanical shutter allowing light to be completely blacked out without the need to switch off the projector and the ability to offer 360 degree operation.  Equally important is the removable, self-cleaning filter which not only provides protection against dust in difficult environments but also expels dust that may have accumulated.

The proven single chip DLP Dark Chip 3 (DC3) design is said to ensure faithful rendition of colour without degradation throughout the life of the projector. Optoma will offer an array of three purpose built lens options, from short throw to long, to meet almost any installation application. Each option will be entirely controllable via motorised lens-shift, zoom and focus control.

The EX855 and EW865 are said to be ideal for boardrooms, auditoriums, live events, houses of worship, among many other applications. Once installed, these projectors are easily managed; in addition to AMX Dynamic Discovery, Optoma now offers Crestron Roomview™ compatibility, a custom configurable interface to monitor, manage and control every device in every room remotely via a network. These models also include an extensive range of inputs and outputs including BNC, HDMI, DVI-D, component video and dual VGA inputs.
