BOXLIGHT has announced that Oktopus for BOXLIGHT is now to be included with its portfolio of interactive learning and collaboration products. Oktopus for BOXLIGHT interactive learning software replaces or enhances legacy software and moves teachers to a similar and familiar touch based environment. With over 70 subject specific tools for math, science, literacy, and geography and having local installation, Oktopus for BOXLIGHT is a true modern classroom learning software.

With included collaboration and polling software, teachers can now poll their students with a one-click collaboration session. Mathematical problems can be created on-the-fly and converted digitally through embedded handwriting recognition and then sent to the students devices with the touch of one icon. The included student response system includes 5 free-of-charge simultaneous collaboration users and can be increased to 40 simultaneous users.

All Oktopus for BOXLIGHT voting or polling options operate within a Local Area Network (LAN) and provide immediate teacher feedback without relying on a Cloud based system, the device updates in real time and supports 8 polling options. This offers faster responses and immediate student engagement with or without internet connectivity and is the only software solution that can do this over LAN. The voting and polling is completely device and/or browser agnostic and works with Android, iOS, Windows, Chromebook, or Mac.

“The combination of BOXLIGHT interactive products and Oktopus for BOXLIGHT classroom learning software will provide the most powerful, easy-to-use, and modern solution for instructors in the today’s touch-based world. We have combined the best in our interactive technologies with the most robust, flexible, and easy to use and understand interactive software into one ideal solution,” said Jeremy Peterson, BOXLIGHT Product Manager.

Oktopus for BOXLIGHT will allow a teacher to work live over almost any digital content, use tools to bring the presentation to life, with as many touch points as the device is capable of delivering, including up to 10 simultaneous touch-points on select BOXLIGHT products. The software has a large image gallery and is available in 42 languages. It has hand-writing recognition for up to 12 languages and offers screen recording, web camera integration and document camera.
