Ed Cook, CEO of AVMI, delivered the Keynote Address to the AV News Awards Presentation Ceremony. He identified “huge” opportunities for the AV industry going forward. Cook drew parallels between the development of the AV sector with IT and the telecoms industry. He described the humble origins of AVMI in 1990 with those of IBM’s UK launch in 1924.

Cook emphasised the need to operate globally, through vertical and horizontal integration, partnerships or acquisition. He emphasised the need to spread the AV message beyond the industry itself to end user groups and other key influencers. Cook concludes that the opportunities emerging are enormous for those willing to take these steps.
