With the national press obsessing about the trans-European market, the importance of globalisation and M&A at an all-time high in technology markets, it’s easy to forget that some extremely successful businesses have been created in the UK market, and focussed on providing customers and suppliers with very best experiences. Medium has been for 25 years, and celebrates its anniversary this month.

Despite the Best efforts of the Queen and the RMT to frustrate our attendance on the first day of the NEC Display Solutions Showcase 2016, we persevered and we were glad that we endured the two-hour taxi ride from St Pancras and the altercation between the taxi driver and an overzealous policeman charged with keeping the roundabout at the end of Lambeth Bridge “clear of traffic” – some hope. When we finally reached Millbank Tower we were rewarded with some really well thought-out experiences from NEC and its partners.

DCC Technology, trading here as Exertis, published its year end results to the 31st March, last month. DCC’s Technology Division accounts for £2.442 billion of the DCC Group’s £10.601 billion revenue.

With a great fit in terms of technologies, markets and geography, the merger of Polycom and Mitel should result in a new company “with shared vision for seamless communications and collaboration”.
