Christie is expanding its 1DLP laser phosphor projector line-up with the launch of the Christie Captiva Series. As the only sold-state projector available with 3000+ lumens, a 0.25:1 ultra-short throw lens and choice between HD or Ultra Wide resolution and a Portrait Mode the new projector is designed for applications including education, museums and smaller corporate spaces. Christie product manager likens Captive to a double screen set-up on a PC with lots of windows open:
“The Ultra Wide aspect ratio commonly surprises people when they first see it,” said Lingard, “It’s ideal for retail and museums to capture audience’s attention in either landscape or portrait orientation. The Ultra Wide aspect ratio is also perfect for running one or more applications simultaneously on your desktop in meetings or classrooms – you can see several windows at the same time.”
The ultra-short throw Captiva from Christie offers a choice between HD or Ultra Wide resolution and a Portrait Mode.
Previewed at InfoComm 2015, the Captiva immediately picked up a Best-of-Show award. It’s described as super-quiet, provides 20,000 hours of lamp-free operation and can achieve full brightness within seconds, or switch instantaneously into standby with no cool down period. The highly reliable 1DLP engine allows the projector to be used in high usage applications, including 24/7 duty schedules.
Available with a 0.25:1 ultra-short throw lens the Christie Captiva Series can be mounted inches from a screen or wall – in portrait or landscape configuration(– without shadows obstructing the image. The high-definition Captiva DHD400S offers native 16:9 aspect ratio matching up perfectly with the most common signals used today. The ultra-wide Captiva DUW350S brings a new captivating and creative wide canvas for tight spaces and, simultaneously, offers a unique, but practical workspace for everyday activities..
