INFiLED has supplied a broadcast-grade curved LED wall to France’s leading television channel, TF1, enabling the network to deliver extended-reality (XR) sequences rendered live in Unreal Engine5 for news and magazine programming. The 10.5m × 3m display, constructed from INFiLED Xmk2-SeriesLED panels, is engineered for uniform, colour-accurate performance in front of the cameras and forms the centrepiece of TF1’s upgraded broadcast studio.TF1’srelationship with INFiLED dates to 2023,when INFiLED displays were integrated into the Bonjour! morning show and later used to support immersive segments onTF1’s flagship news programmes, Le13h and Le20h. For the most recent upgrade project, INFiLED partnered with Paris-based systems integrator CACV to provide TF1 with a visual canvas that would set its presenters against immersive virtual environments rendered in real time with Unreal Engine. At the heart of the installation is a modified IRX1.95M2mk2Ultra display from INFiLED’sXmk2 Series.

The Xmk2 Series was selected for its precise colour accuracy, high native contrast and ultra-smooth visual performance–all critical factors when rendering augmented-reality and XR content directly to camera–as well its fine1.95mm pixel pitch(262,144 pixels per m²), which minimises the moiré effect and preserves fine detail under studio lighting. The Xmk2 Series additionally incorporates two of INFiLED’s proprietary technologies, CBSF(Color & Brightness Shift Free)and ArmorLED, both of which are paying dividends in the hectic, camera-facingTF1broadcast environment.

CBSF resolves the age-old problem of colour shift (e.g. blueish or reddish hues) distorting images when viewed from a wide angle. CBSF harmonises RGB across pixels, stabilising colour temperature and brightness for consistency across all viewing angles. It is also energy saving, aligning with both INFiLED and TF1’scorporate values.

ArmorLED-equipped screens have 3–5 times the thrust of standard LEDs, providing robustness and reliability inTF1’shigh traffic, high-energy 24-hour newsroom. The LED wall is also fully modular, offering maximum flexibility for studio operators, and integrates seamlessly with TF1’s XR/Unreal Engine Array. “We were beyond excited to support TF1’s groundbreaking adventure into real-time XR for millions of viewers, and proud to continue our partnership with France’s premier broadcaster,” says Mathieu Arnould, INFiLED’s country sales manager for France. “If you’re looking to enhance the realism of a virtual environment, or add more creative opportunities to your livestreaming, broadcasting or filmmaking, we invite you to speak to one of our team members or try our product configurator how find out about how our solutions can benefit your broadcast or virtual production studios.”
