With nearly 1200 exhibitors across 14 halls and 73,413 visitors, the attendance of ISE 2017 was up by 11.7 % on the previous year at a time when many trade shows are struggling to even maintain their attendances at existing levels. Where are all these new visitors coming from? The catchment area for the show continues to grow, with visitors now hailing from 150 different countries
“It was a fantastic ISE 2017 for InfoComm, but more importantly, it was an industry-affirming show for the AV industry as a whole,” said David Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, Executive Director and CEO of InfoComm International (co-owners of ISE. “As ISE and all our InfoComm shows worldwide demonstrate, this is a vibrant, growing, global community. We’re committed to being a catalyst for market growth, and this week has shown we’re on the right track.”
While ISE 2018 (RAI Amsterdam from 6 – 9 February) will feature one more additional hall to accommodate new business, the halls of this year’s event were awash with rumours of 5 days and 100,000 visitors in two years’ time. As one of AV News’ taxi drivers said, “this show is too big for Amsterdam now” – he might not have seen anything yet.
