Midwich is delighted to announce that employees have raised £45,058 for their mental health charity partner, Norfolk and Waveney Mind.

Through its fundraising efforts over the past 10 years, Midwich has raised in the region of £200,000 for worthwhile local and national charities that have positively impacted the lives of thousands of people up and down the country.

Midwich’s employees voted Norfolk and Waveney Mind as their chosen charity in 2020 and over the past two years, have raised money through several different initiatives including their annual quiz, festive raffle, and physical activity challenges. As well as donating funds, Midwich employees have volunteered more than 100 hours to the Mind charity shop and donated 315kg of worthwhile items.

Alex Wiseman, Partnerships Manager, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, (pictured below, third from right) comments:

“Each year the demand for our services increases as more and more people seek support for their mental health. As Norfolk and Waveney’s leading mental health charity, we supported circa 29,000 local people last year through our wide range of services and support programmes.

We couldn’t continue to do what we do without the help of our corporate partners and can’t thank Midwich’s employees enough for their incredible support over the past two years.”

Ben Thompson, PR and Communications Manager, Midwich (pictured below, far right) comments:

“The effect of the pandemic continues to have a significant impact on the mental health and wellbeing of so many people. Norfolk and Waveney Mind are there for those that need some support, and ultimately this service saves people’s lives. With that in mind, Midwich is incredibly proud to raise £45,058.10 to support the amazing work that Norfolk and Waveney Mind do.

Over the past 10 years, we have been in the fortunate position to raise in the region of £200,000 for worthwhile charities, including Nelson’s Journey, Big C, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH) and East Anglian Air Ambulance.”

More than one in four people in the UK experience mental health issues at some point and 104 people sadly take their own lives each week. This number is expected to increase during 2022 as a direct result of the pandemic. The need for good quality mental health support, advice and information is vital. Midwich recently confirmed 14 new charity partners for 2022/23 and launched its first fundraising challenge of 2022 early this month raising £1695.
