Panasonic used 110 compact DLP projectors (PT-DZ21K2) offering 20,000 lumen brightness to help open one of the world’s largest sporting spectacles. More than 200 Panasonic broadcast cameras were on hand to capture the thrills and spills of competition, alongside 72 LED large screen displays at 35 Competition Venues. In total, Panasonic contributed 1,886 square metres of Games imagery.

Since the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, Panasonic broadcasting equipment has been selected to serve as the official video recording systems at 12 consecutive Olympic Games. The company has signed a worldwide official partnership contract through to 2024, and has also signed a worldwide official partnership contract for the Paralympics through to 2020.
