    Room control with built-in scaler

Crestron has introduced the latest addition to its DigitalMedia AV distribution family, the DM-RMC-SCALER-C. This new digital receiver and room controller features a built in HD scaler for achieving high-definition resolution on every connected display in the home or workplace.

Crestron - supports scaling in every room.

The DM-RMC-SCALER-C provides a single HDMI output that produces the finest high-definition resolution in any room on a DigitalMedia 8G+ network. Regardless of the display used, DM-RMC-SCALER-C will accept any video source, from standard 480i to HD 1080p60 with Deep Colour, as well as all computer sources, and will effortlessly scale them for the best possible HD viewing experience.

“The common problem with most built-in scalers is that they are often unable to handle non-standard resolutions and will scale down a 1080p video signal to 480i – if your multi-room network includes any 480i displays,” says VP of sales and marketing at Crestron International, Robin van Meeuwen. “The DM-RMC-SCALER-C irons out all these issues and produces the best possible HD experience, regardless of the mix of displays in your home or office.”

Featuring 3D to 2D conversion, the DM-RMC-SCALER-C allows 3D content to be fed simultaneously to separate 3D and 2D displays, where multiple display screens are operating on the same network. For custom applications such as video walls, the DM-RMC-SCALER-C provides a zoom capability on its output to display a portion of the source image. With a separate DM-RMC-SCALER-C for each display, a video wall of up to 16 displays can be created using this feature.

Installation is clean and simple, even over long distances. The compact, low profile unit is easily hidden behind a display or above a ceiling mounted projector. Using a single CAT5e or DM 8G cable, the DM-RMC-SCALER-C connects to a Crestron DigitalMedia switcher or transmitter and delivers a clean signal up to 100 meters without any degradation.

“When you have made a significant investment in your AV system you should expect it to work to the best possible standard,” says Robin. “With the DM-RMC-SCALER-C, no matter what mix of displays and sources you’re running, it will always work to achieve optimum resolution.”

Crestron’s DigitalMedia 8G+ is the only one-wire high definition AV network. 8G+ distributes all analogue and digital content – including 1080p with Deep Colour, 3D HD video, 1920×1200 computer signals, digital audio, control data and Ethernet – long distances over a single cable without the need for compression or repeaters.
