Specialist technical furniture manufacturer TeamMate is developing a market in the United States under the brand name of MediaMate.Following a number of meetings at InfoComm last year, the company has engaged Florida based Mediatech, a company involved in the research, design and manufacture of presentation and control systems, to represent their interests in the United States.   As well as an obvious synergy with the TeamMate portfolio, Mediatech offers access to the Dell channel throughout the whole of the United States.

Jeremy Stewart, TeamMate’s sales and marketing director, explains, “The US can be a tough market to crack and we believe the strategy of finding a complimentary partner who knows the territory will be our fastest route in.  Mediatech has strengths in the Higher Education sector, an area TeamMate understands well.  And Florida’s education system is very similar to the UK’s, albeit on a larger scale.”

TeamMate will be supplying modules from its Scotland based facility, giving Mediatech the flexibility of building finished products from the various components.  TeamMate is due to send a team out to Florida this month to ensure Mediatech’s personnel are fully trained.  In the meantime the company is strongly promoting the MediaMate brand and has exhibited on the DELL booth at Educause in Philadelphia, sponsored the CCUMC conference (Consortium of College and University Media Centers) in Texas, and the FETC  (Florida Educational Technology Conference) in Orlando last month.
