    FUSION Eco Billboard

The Fusion was created to keep LED simple and to reduce both energy consumption and carbon footprint.

The LED Studio’s years of experience in all areas of the Digital Out-Of-Home industry has given them a profound insight into the problems with traditional digital billboards: big, heavy cabinets, cooling and colour shift issues, lack of pro-active monitoring and much more.

Rob Bint, CEO and technical designer, looked at the situation holistically: developing manufacture, installation, maintenance, CMS, monitoring and many other solutions.

With a typical installation, the average 48 sheet screen will take 2 – 3 days to instal after any groundworks and power connection have been completed. Utilising clever, smart design of the panels, The LED Studio has reduced this process to 3-5 hours. Once the foundations and steelwork are complete, their patented support system is attached, and with ease the screen is in place. The carbon footprint for the install is thus greatly reduced.

Connecting and commissioning is then made simple, using the LED Studio App that connects the screen to the Network Operation Centre and checks all systems.

The control system and its protocols are bespoke to Fusion and use dual control modules for full redundancy.  One of these runs any proprietary CMS such as Scala or Broadsign: the other module runs the control and monitoring functions.

With an advanced system designed for the demands of media owners in OOH they can monitor multiple parameters of the screen, from temperature of modules, to current and voltage and much more. There is even a built-in camera for a visual check for when a report of any issue is generated.

The screen control is also designed with multiple layers of CMS, power and data redundancy. The modules have embedded smart technology that puts this screen far ahead of anything else in its class. Full pixel monitoring is just one of many features.

It has been described by users as ‘The billboard in a box’ and certainly represents the way forward.

A video (easily viewable on LinkedIn) shows The LED Studio running a 6m x 3m screen from a 13a domestic socket: while they don’t advise this in the field, it is an illustration as the astonishing economy of the screen. The average cost of running a typical 48 sheet at around £8-10k per year, the Fusion reduces this to around £2-3k.

The Fusion is available in P6, P8 and P10 in standard versions of 6000 nits and in P10 and P16 highbright versions with 10-15,000 nits.

There is also a version available that uses their unique focal technology that can direct the light source in any direction to avoid light pollution to residential areas, to comply fully with UK planning applications.

More media owners are starting to switch to this latest technology for the cost savings (especially with some screen rollouts in their thousands) and for the peace of mind that comes from dealing with a company that offer a screen that is designed and assembled in the UK, with repair and maintenance teams in the UK, and who offer a 3-7 year UK warranty.
