Pufferfish unveils integrated immersive experience business model

Pufferfish, the creative technology company behind some of the world’s most recognised immersive installations, has announced the launch of a streamlined business structure designed to simplify how organisations create and deliver their immersive experiences. Ahead of InfoComm 2026 (17–19 June, Las Vegas Convention Centre), the company is introducing three unified divisions – PufferStudio, PufferEvents and PufferTech – bringing together creative, delivery and technical expertise under one cohesive model.

The move responds to a growing challenge across industries: while demand for immersive experiences continues to rise, delivery remains fragmented, often requiring multiple vendors across content, hardware and integration. “Too many immersive projects are still unnecessarily complex,” said Stephen Patterson, CEO, Pufferfish. “You have one partner for hardware, another for content, another for installation – and no single point of accountability. We’ve structured Pufferfish to remove that separation entirely, streamlining our divisions to reflect how immersive experiences are actually delivered.”

    Three capabilities, one immersive platform:

    • PufferStudio – transforms complex ideas, data and brand stories into compelling interactive content, designed for non-planar canvases.
    • PufferEvents – delivers turnkey immersive activations, hardware and content for global events, from concept through to on-site deployment and support.
    • PufferTech – engineers spherical displays, LED globes, curved surfaces, architectural forms and non-planar LED installations, built for the most demanding environments.

Together, the three divisions provide a fully integrated solution from concept and design through to engineering, installation, warranty, maintenance and support. “This isn’t a rebrand – it’s how we already work. Bringing PufferStudio, PufferEvents and PufferTech under one umbrella means our clients get one team, one contract and one delivery process from first sketch to ongoing support,” commented Alana McCourt, COO, Pufferfish.

As brands look to deal with visitor fatigue and move beyond traditional digital signage, Pufferfish’s approach focuses on creating environments that actively draw people in. Its immersive displays are designed to increase dwell time, engagement and memorability. The company’s work spans corporate innovation centres, global events, museums, education and healthcare, with clients including EY, Ericsson, NASA and the World Bank. With headquarters in Edinburgh, Pufferfish has spent over two decades developing immersive display technology and interactive experiences. In 2004, Coldplay approached the business to build something never seen before – interactive spherical displays for a world tour. Now on the fourth product generation, Pufferfish has grown into a global creative technology business. Its strong roots in live events, gaming, robotics and real-time rendering mean the team builds proprietary platforms. Its new integrated business model combines narrative design and creative storytelling, precision hardware engineering, advanced software and interactivity, global deployment and long-term support. This end-to-end capability enables Pufferfish to deliver complex projects with a single-partner approach, reducing risk, cost and delivery timelines for clients.

Every Pufferfish unit ships with an intuitive authoring environment that lets curators build interactive elements and import media, map gestures and publish changes without writing code. For projects that demand more complexity, Pufferfish operates a full creative and software service capable of producing motion graphics, live-data visualisations and interactions for any size and shape of screen. Hardware secures the immediate “wow”, but carefully crafted content is what turns a first impression into long-term value.

Pufferfish will showcase the fourth-generation PufferSphere at InfoComm 2026 on the Barco booth N7231, North Hall.
