Russell Harpham has been appointed as the new Sales & Marketing Director for ArtSystems, the Nottingham-based, value-added, specialist distributor.

ArtSystems’ MD, Steve Hawker, said he was: “Delighted to announce Russell’s appointment to this new key role.” He continued: “ArtSystems has enjoyed sustained growth over the last few years, and Russell’s appointment is part of broader plans to sustain and accelerate this success.

“Those with long memories may remember Russell from his time with us during 1999-2003 when he first started his career. Back then he was instrumental in developing key areas of our business – and over the years he has more than proved the early promise he showed with us by building a solid career through hard work, drive, and initiative.”

Since 2003 Russell has worked for three global manufacturers in the CAD and AV markets, developing reseller and distribution channels for emergent technologies, including large format scanning and interactive boards and screens.

His most recent role was as a Director for Yamaha Unified Communications Inc. where his responsibilities included building international and domestic sales and creating marketing teams to support reseller and distribution channels across EMEA.

Russell has been looking forward to picking up the reins in Nottingham. He explained: “It’s a real pleasure to return to the company where I first started my career. Over the years ArtSystems has changed a great deal – but not where it counts.

“The company has always been a star player, and its central emphasis has always been about building channels and creating new and better routes to markets for our partners, but now the scale and ambition is so much greater. You might say I’m coming Back to the Future!”

Russell is keen to be out getting to know old and new customers over the next couple of months. He concludes: “There are many familiar faces still out there in the key, wide format print sectors, and I’m looking forward to renewing our relationships.

“My key message echoes that of the ArtSystems’ core ethos: ‘There are some truly great opportunities coming, and we want to make sure that with our support our resellers will be in the perfect position to make the very best of them’.”
