BETT 2012 saw a 3.84% increase in attendance, attracting a total of 30,372 visitors. Ray Barker, director of the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) said: “Government policy now gives schools and teachers the autonomy to make their own decisions about which solutions suit their student’s specific learning needs. With the desire to invest wisely BETT attracted the largest number of visitors wanting to review and evaluate all products available to them.”
Despite the increase in numbers, exhibitors voiced concerns about the timing of next year’s BETT (30 January- 2 February 2013 at the new venue of ExCel London) which sees the education show clashing with ISE 2013 (29 – 31 January 2013). BETT organiser Debbie French explained: “Olympia has been a wonderful venue for BETT for many years but the show’s success means it has outgrown these limited premises.”
