    Boom’s dual-host conferencing bridge launched

Boom Collaboration has announced UK availability of its smart bridge for seamless host switching, the Boom ARC, designed to unify in-room conferencing systems with Bring Your Own Meeting/Device workflows. The ARC auto-switches any room between a dedicated in-room PC running MTR, Zoom Room, or Google Meet and a BYOM laptop via a single USB-C connection. It addresses growing demand for flexible, user-friendly meeting experiences and protects existing room system investments while giving users the freedom to connect their own device. No re-cabling is required. Following extensive market testing, the solution is now available worldwide.
Co-Founder Fredrik Hörnkvist said: “Our focus has always been on simplifying collaboration across any device, platform, or room. The ARC reflects how people actually want to work today. Flexible, intuitive, and without unnecessary complexity.” He added: “Many organisations invested heavily in dedicated room systems such as Teams or Zoom Rooms. While effective, we are now seeing a clear shift toward users preferring the simplicity of connecting their own device. The ARC bridges that gap. Organisations can keep their existing systems, while users get the flexibility they expect. It’s a win-win scenario.” Features of ARC include:
Auto-switches between in-room PC and BYOM laptop via single USB-C. No re-cabling
4×2 HDMI matrix with dual 4K output – Two HDMI, two USB-C with power delivery, and two USB-B inputs
Cameras, speakerphones, and touch displays follow the active host automatically
Flexible operating modes: Auto, Conference, Matrix, Mirror, and Manual
Widespread seamless display and HDMI compatibility
Balanced audio output and 100W USB-C power adapter included
Platform-agnostic: Zoom, Teams, Webex, and Google Meet
RS-232 and TCP/IP control for AV and IT integration
The ARC builds on Boom’s existing portfolio of conferencing solutions, including connectivity hubs, video bars, and complete room kits. It reduces complexity in meeting spaces while delivering the latest features available through modern conferencing platforms and personal devices. There’s less clutter, faster room start times and smooth handoffs between hosts. Co-Founder Holli Hulett said: “There has been strong interest in the ARC because it solves a real-world problem in a simple way. Simplicity is our guiding principle. The ARC requires no learning curve. It works immediately, which is what users expect in modern meeting environments.” She added: “What sets the ARC apart is that it does not force a choice between systems or workflows. It adapts to how people want to meet. Teams on one screen and Meet on another. Any combination, in any format.”
As organisations navigate the shift from dedicated room systems toward more flexible BYOM and BYOD workflows, the ARC gives integrators a single solution to address both. Hulett emphasised: “For AV integrators, resellers, and IT teams deploying the ARC across multiple rooms and sites, the device supports full control via both RS-232 serial and TCP/IP network connections, making it straightforward to integrate with any control system environment. The complete command set covers video routing, audio management, USB host switching, EDID configuration, CEC control, and system and network settings, all accessible from a single interface. Four configurable operating modes give IT and AV teams precise control over how each room behaves, and the configurable TCP/IP port means the ARC fits cleanly into existing network architectures without disruption. For enterprise deployments across boardrooms, classrooms, and training spaces, this means a standardised, remotely manageable configuration that requires no on-site intervention every time a room’s requirements change.”
The Boom ARC extends the company’s growing ecosystem and builds on its mantra of creating better meetings, simply – as Hörnkvist concluded: “For our channel partners and their customers, the ARC needs to be as easy to deploy and manage as it is to use. Clean installation, integration with existing control systems, and the ability to manage at scale. That matters just as much as the user experience.”
