Anders+Kern introduces wireless digital signage
Anders+Kern UK introduces A+K Airgoo, an Android-based HDMI MicroPlayer for Wireless Digital Signage. The new MicroPlayer is designed on the latest Android platform 4.0 ICS, running on a 1GHz ARM CPU and allows up to 4GB storage for the user’s media content.
A+K claims the solution makes the MicroPlayer a simple and cost effective alternative to traditional digital signage. No additional hardware or installation is required. The entire device is powered via a micro USB port. Simply plug the device into the HDMI socket of the display and play virtually any type of picture or video format.
A secure, cloud-based content management system makes it easy for users to add, manage, organise and upload content. The displays are organised in Groups, so users can link multimedia content. This content is scheduled by Playlists so users can assign schedules to each Group.
The Scheduler is an important feature of the CMS that allows users to schedule different content Playlists at different times of the day and for each day of the week. Programming the daily Scheduler is achieved through the Group interface where users can define the start and end times of a Playlist by means of a sliding scale.
The ability to manage the signage content locally makes A+K Airgoo a solution for multi-site locations, for instance franchises, where owners have specific needs that must be met. The centralised system can be integrated into the existing infrastructure of the business and offers a lower cost of ownership compared to some traditional digital signage solutions.
A+K Airgoo is also suited to retail marketing where retailers can use the web-based CMS to create and schedule digital messages to leverage brand awareness and advertise in-store promotions.
