The introduction of Samsung’s ME series has contributed to an upturn in sales.
The introduction of Samsung’s ME series has contributed to an upturn in sales.

Samsung UK has reported first quarter growth of 44%in its Display Division, with the upturn driven by sales in the company’s Large Format Display (LFD) business.

Samsung’s introduction of the ME series of slim, eco-friendly LED large format displays is said to have been a success with more businesses looking to replace projectors with LFDs, particularly in the banking and finance sector. Another area of growth has been the UE Series of large format displays for video wall applications.

Further progress is anticipated following the formal launch of Samsung’s Smart Signage Platform in the UK last month. Smart Signage is powered by a System on Chip (SoC) semiconductor. Software partners will have the opportunity to develop apps optimised for an assortment of service environments with Samsung’s Software Development Kit (SDK).
