Holdens has partnered with Barcelona-based vehicle testing equipment manufacturer VTEQ to develop a 360 product visualisation app, recently launched at Automechanika Frankfurt.
The app was designed to attract attention from passers-by at the event, as well as provide an interactive and informative sales tool for VTEQ’s employees on the stand.
Projected onto a 110” video wall, the experience was the centrepiece of VTEQ’s exhibition setup at the world’s largest trade show for the automotive service industry, with 2,800 exhibitors from more than 70 countries in attendance.
Every product in VTEQ’s range could be browsed in an immersive 360-degree environment, with customers able to view it from all angles and interact with it in a way that has never been possible before.
An exploded view option revealed the inside of the machine, showing all its individual component parts. These could be clicked and highlighted to bring up even more detailed part information.
Future plans for the software include incorporating additional features such as augmented reality (AR), enabling VTEQ’s international sales teams to place products directly in live environments.
Fernando Casado, Business Development Manager at VTEQ, commented: “The 360 product visualisation app developed by Holdens generated lots of attention from trade show visitors and proved to be an effective tool to interact with potential customers. At the same time, it will provide us with a significant increase in the efficiency of after-sale management of our products, drastically reducing the chances of error.
“Digitalisation is traditionally slow in our industry, something that we’re keen to change with innovative digital solutions such as this. Not just an eye-catching sales tool but one that saves us money by not having to transport heavy products to every event.”
Olly Holden, production director at Holdens, added: “We love nothing better than working with companies that are passionate about pushing the boundaries of their industry, so partnering with VTEQ on this project was a real pleasure. We look forward to developing our relationship with them and taking the app to the next level.”
