Imago Group plc, a long-term distributor of Osprey Video capture cards, has been appointed to manage an extended geographical territory following the purchase of the Osprey brand by Texas-based Variosystems.
As well as the UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa and China, Imago will be nurturing and extending its channel of resellers and OEM customers in Europe (with the exception of DACH countries), Middle East and Africa on behalf of the Osprey solutions.

The Osprey brand was taken over by Variosystems from ViewCast earlier this year, however the company has actually been manufacturing and warehousing the products for over three years. Variosystems is now committed to a long-term plan to develop the Osprey range and has introduced a new audio add-on card – the 800a – for the High Definition 820, 825 and 845 models, which is now available.
“Imago has a long and successful history working with the Osprey range of products,” said Roger Bieri, General Manager of Variosystems. “We are excited about appointing Imago as Master Distributor which will give them responsibility for marketing and selling the brand across a much wider range of territories. We are also confident that Imago’s experience and knowledge of the products and their applications are ideal ingredients to help Variosystems stimulate enthusiasm from both the dealer channel and end-user customers.”
Peter Nice, Head of New Business at Imago, said: “Variosystems are an ideal partner for Imago because they understand the philosophy of good distribution. They are already showing their commitment to the Osprey range and to the channel sales model by participating at the forthcoming IBC exhibition in Amsterdam (RAI, 12-16 September) and they will follow up on the event with additional marketing initiatives.”
