Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) and Llum BCN have announced the continuation of their collaboration for the fourth consecutive year. The partnership will be featured at ISE 2025, taking place from 4th to 7th February at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía, where attendees will get an exclusive preview of the Llum BCN 25 light installations.

The installations will encompass contemporary art, design, architecture, technology, and lighting, creating an immersive experience across the city’s streets, squares, buildings, and parks. Notable projects will include works by photographer and conceptual artist Joan Fontcuberta, film director Isaki Lacuesta, and set designer and light artist Laura Clos (Closca). The 2024 edition of Llum BCN attracted over 240,000 visitors.
Preview of Llum BCN 25 at ISE
ISE 2025 will offer visitors a unique preview of Llum BCN 25, with a special presentation by French Art Director and Artist Alice Labourel. Known for her innovative fusion of visual storytelling and new technologies, Labourel will showcase her work A Tiny Bead of Pure Life on Thursday, 6th February, at 18:30, on the South Access Welcome Screen at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via. Labourel’s background in architecture and ballet informs her ability to blend drawing, 3D modelling, mythology, and nature to create immersive visual experiences that bridge the physical and virtual worlds.
A Tiny Bead of Pure Life is a 15-minute animated journey through surreal, abstract landscapes, inspired by nature. The work’s slow, contemplative pace reveals intricate details and small creatures, inviting viewers to reflect on the fragility of life. Drawing inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s novella The Death of the Moth, the piece transforms seemingly trivial actions into profound reflections on existence.
This preview at ISE provides a rare glimpse of Llum BCN 25 before the official festival begins. For those attending ISE, it also offers an excellent reason to extend their stay in Barcelona and experience the full festival, which celebrates the intersection of art, technology, and light.
Statements from ISE and Llum BCN
Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE, commented: “The ongoing collaboration between Llum BCN and Integrated Systems Europe is a powerful example of how creativity and technology can intersect. Llum BCN transforms Barcelona’s urban landscape into a spectacular showcase of artistic ingenuity, while ISE brings together leading AV and systems integration technologies. Together, we are creating a platform where both art and technology can inspire and push boundaries, building stronger connections between the two communities. I’m especially excited to have Alice Labourel’s work as part of ISE 2025, demonstrating the synergy between art and technology in an engaging, dynamic way.”
Maria Güell Ordis, Art Director of Llum BCN, added: “Our aim is to turn the urban environment into a luminous canvas, showcasing both artistic creativity and technological innovation. Each installation challenges perceptions of light and art, demonstrating what is possible when art and technology come together.”
With ISE 2025 promising to be the most dynamic edition to date, visitors can expect new initiatives, an expanded content programme, and the unveiling of Hall 8.1, which is easily accessible via the North Access point.
