ISE 2022 has closed its doors, the visitor numbers have been announced and the conclusion is that the move too May, the change of venue and the ongoing battle with Covid resulted in a remarkably smooth transition to Barcelona. With a total 43,691 unique attendees from 151 countries, making 90,372 visits to the show floor, exhibitors reported busier than expected booths and many fruitful business connections. This was the first full ISE show since February 2020, when ISE said farewell to its previous home in Amsterdam and naturally there were suggestions for improvements from both visitors and exhibitors. With 834 exhibitors in 48,000 square metres of show floor across six Technology Zones, with visitors suggesting improvements to booth numbering and integration with the show app. ISE 2022 set a new benchmark with a host of opportunities to explore new solutions and drive new business. Transport to the venue was generally good, with subsidised public transport. but something of a shortage of taxis when leaving Fire de Barcelona. Exhibitors were unconvinced about the value of late evening opening.
Highlights of the event included seven ISE Conferences with more than 1,000 attendees, two keynote addresses, Refik Anadol and Alan Greenberg, presented to a packed audience, and two stunning projection mapping projects within the city of Barcelona. The Panasonic virtual art exhibition was also an undeniable success. In conclusion, Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE, commented that ISE 2022 is an event to be proud of: “We are so pleased to have provided a successful platform for our exhibitors and partners to showcase their innovation and technology solutions.
