Well known AV industry figures Paul O’Reilly, Peter Finn and Phil Waterhouse left Medium UK as the distributor announced plans to focus its future business on the high growth areas of digital signage and video communications. Medium’s MD and founder Ian Sempers said that the company achieved 18% revenue growth last year, much of which was attributable to winning large signage and VC projects.
Sempers said that: “We will continue to achieve critical mass in projectors and large format displays, but the focus going forward will be on digital signage and video communications.”
Of the departing team members, Sempers said: “Each played an important part but people move on. At the same time, the restructure allows other people to step up. The important point is that our customers understand that it is very much a case of business as usual.”
Sempers will take back much of the responsibility for vendor relationships previously handled by O’Reilly, including the key digital signage brands of Samsung, LG and Signagelive. Terry French is promoted to the new role of Head of Video Communications, in which capacity he will develop the sales and technical aspects of Medium’s LifeSize offering.
Further announcements of new personnel are expected in the near future as Sempers completes the restructuring around Medium’s new business objectives.
