Midwich, a specialist AV distributor, has announced a distribution agreement with DJI Enterprise, a global leader in commercial and industrial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. As of October 8, 2024, Midwich will offer DJI’s full range of enterprise drone solutions, including the recently launched DJI Dock 2, to customers in the UK and Ireland.

These drone solutions are designed to assist businesses and organizations by providing accurate data for timely decision-making, reducing operational costs, improving personnel safety, and enabling quicker access to remote assets.

Key applications for DJI’s enterprise drones include:

    • Public Safety: Providing aerial visuals and thermal imaging to support emergency services in tactical response.
    • Geospatial: Offering precise digital outputs, such as maps and models, for improved project operations by managers, surveyors, and engineers.
    • Electricity: Facilitating real-time management of electrical grids, plants, and remote assets, along with inspection and maintenance capabilities.
    • Oil and Gas: Supporting safe inspection and management of infrastructure with minimal downtime.

Ross Floyd, Commercial Director for the UK and Ireland at Midwich, commented: “We’re excited to introduce DJI Enterprise solutions to our portfolio. Drones are transforming how businesses operate by delivering faster and more accurate information, improving safety, and offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods.”

According to PwC, the commercial drone industry is projected to contribute £45 billion to the UK economy by 2030, with an estimated reduction of 2.4 million tonnes in carbon emissions and £22 billion in net cost savings.

A DJI Enterprise spokesperson added: “We are pleased to partner with Midwich for the distribution and support of our enterprise products in the UK and Ireland. Midwich’s expertise in the AV/IT market makes them an ideal partner to bring our solutions to customers.”
