Panasonic has launched its 30 series plasma display range. Replacing the 20 series, the new range includes 42”, 50”, 60” and 65” models that are 3D capable, durable and energy efficient, ideal for presentation, digital signage, visualisation & design and home cinema applications. The company is bringing a new size of 60” to the professional line-up. to meet the increasing market trend towards larger sized screens with a very competitive price point.
The new series is available with two model variants, the PH & PF screens, to cater for a variety of applications for mid to large format displays. The PF30 models are 3D ready with dual HD-SDI and Dual DVI-D boards to enable simultaneous 3D input. It includes 42”, 50”, 60” and 65” models, all of which have a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, high luminous efficiency for crisp, high-contrast images and a wide-viewing angle, which are essential for signage or design applications as well as home cinema. Each display is equipped with “Slot 2.0” function slots to support various digital interfaces.
The PH30 models have been designed to significantly reduce power consumption in comparison to the previous models. The 42” display, for example, consumes 35 percent less energy than its 20 series predecessor (reducing expenditure from 275w to 175w) and the 50” display consumes 30 percent less.
“This new series is a reflection of the industry’s priorities right now, with 3D and energy efficiency at the forefront”, said David Martin, general marketing manager for professional displays at Panasonic Marketing Europe. “3D professional plasmas are becoming increasingly popular and this range extends 3D capabilities to mid-size displays, making it accessible to more markets.”
The 30 series is available in Europe now. The recommended retail pricing for the 3D capable PF30 models are: €3250 (TH-60PF30E), €4410 (TH-65PF30E), €1080 (TH-42PF30E) and €1590 (TH-50PF30E). For the HD models PH30, the recommended prices are: €650 (TH-42PH30E) and €870 (TH-50PH30E).
