AV Promotions has announced the launch of AV ProVision – a new business division of the company specialising in the distribution of the professional AV and top tier CE brands to AV professionals, custom installers and specialist resellers.
AV ProVision will be managed by ex-Midwich man David Hockaday, who believes that AV ProVision will bring a fresh new perspective to AV distribution. Hockaday told AV News that: “We want to get back to the days where our channel customers can enjoy high standards of customer service and decent margins. We have a new approach to distribution which goes a long way beyond the simple ‘cost plus’ model used by the larger players.”
Hockaday brings over 15 years’ experience as a senior account manager and technical sales specialist within various FMCG verticals – experience which he says will enable him to develop new routes to market for AV vendors. Hockaday is joined by Steve Pratt, a former employee of Steljes with seven years experience of product and account management within the channel.
Rupert Poulson, the founder of the £22 million turnover AV Promotions, explains: “Our expertise, product knowledge and track record of strong customer service separates us from the rest. Hockaday and Pratt will focus on creating dynamic partnerships within the AV market and help to provide a refreshing approach for our customers and the manufacturers that we partner with”
AV ProVision, explains Hockaday, has access to the brands currently sold through AV Promotions and the back office logistics and credit bandwidth needed for a successful distribution business. But Hockaday explains that AV ProVision will concentrate on developing a relatively tight product portfolio. He explains that: “With a large portfolio of brands, it can be difficult for the account managers to fully appreciate and understand individual products. With AV ProVision we will offer a quality and depth that used to be a feature of AV distribution before it became very broadline. We want to bring that back.”
