Sony has confirmed the on-sale and pricing details of its new 4K TV: BRAVIA X9. It is already available for pre-orders online and comes to Sony Centres, like John Lewis and Currys in the UK from mid-June.
The 55” and 65” screen sizes of the BRAVIA X9 has four times the detail of Full HD (4K). With more films being produced and distributed in the format, Sony claims ‘‘4K is this year’s biggest entertainment story’’. The BRAVIA X9 upscales current content to 4K including Blu-ray Disc films, TV shows and even low-resolution web videos.
The latest 4K X-Reality PRO engine and a Triluminos display is said to display richly realistic colours and at the same time ensures best picture quality, from movies to smartphone clips.
BRAVIA X9 can connect wirelessly with NFC-compatible Xperia smartphones or tablets at a touch. ‘Mirror’ your device wirelessly and look at photos, videos, games and apps on the big screen with rich colour and detail. Users can browse schedules, record shows and explore related content with TV SideView, the intuitive app for Android or iOS devices.
