Pufferfish is expanding into retail with its interactive PufferSphere, showcasing immersive in-store experiences at Retail Technology Show 2026.
Pufferfish is sharpening its focus on the retail sector, introducing a targeted offering designed to boost in-store engagement, increase dwell time and create standout brand experiences.
The company will demonstrate its latest capabilities at Retail Technology Show 2026 (22–23 April, Stand U82), where visitors can experience its flagship PufferSphere display in action.
According to CEO Stephen Patterson, traditional flat panel displays are increasingly ineffective in busy retail environments. By contrast, immersive and interactive formats encourage shoppers to stop, engage and explore.
At the centre of Pufferfish’s retail proposition is the PufferSphere, a 4K, touch-responsive spherical display that allows multiple users to interact simultaneously. Supporting up to 64 touch points, the system enables customers to browse products, configure options and engage with branded content through intuitive gestures.
Unlike conventional screens, the spherical format removes the concept of a fixed viewing angle, enabling 360-degree interaction and shared experiences around a single installation.
The hardware is supported by Pufferfish’s integrated software platform, which provides a no-code authoring environment for managing content and interactions. For more complex deployments, the company also offers creative and development services, including motion graphics and real-time data visualisation.
With retailers continuing to invest in experiential store formats, Pufferfish sees growing demand for technologies that combine visual impact with meaningful interaction.
Headquartered in Edinburgh, the company delivers end-to-end solutions spanning hardware, software and content creation, aimed at simplifying deployment while maximising engagement.
Visitors to the show can see live demonstrations of the PufferSphere and explore its applications across retail environments.
