CTOUCH Europe has announced the Laser Nova, the new versatile interactive touchscreen designed for “maximum ease of use and fun in classroom collaboration.” The new interactive touch screen is specifically designed to stimulate the development of “21st century skills”. It focuses on facilitating a high-quality interaction learning environment with engaged and confident students, who are equipped with the right technology and skills required for the ever-changing school and work environment of tomorrow.
“I am very proud that we have taken our 10 years successful legacy in education interactive touch displays, once again to the next level. What sets Laser Nova apart is the focus on turning classroom learning and knowledge sharing into fun. Everything in the product proposition is tuned around this: from the unique Harman Kardon JBL sound and Sonique Voice Logic voice recognition technology to the sharing of content with any device in the Connected classroom of the future. Everything is aimed at enabling increased student and teacher participation.”, says Remmelt van der Woude, CTOUCH CEO.
Suitable for the Connected Classroom, as part of the 21st century skills development, the new touchscreen is a natural fit for the demanding BYOD environment, where tech-savvy students expect to use their own personal devices more and more as part of the learning process. Students and teachers can now stream wirelessly what’s on their phones, tablets or notebooks.
The integrated wireless presentation and collaboration solution allows for sharing with any device and all operating systems: Windows/Mac, tablet or smartphone. CTOUCH uses Barco’s MirrorOp app to ensure easy and fast wireless sharing. The unique two-way mirroring touch functionality enables easy control of devices. The integrated whiteboard functionality and pre-installed email, file commander and Office apps make working with Laser Nova as easy as can be.
Engaging students through interactive and intuitive technology is now even more intuitive with the free dynamic pen and excellent JBL Live Stage (virtual) surround sound. The integrated 80W JBL speakers bring Live Stage (virtual) Surround sound, which widens the sound stage and sharpens the location of sound. The integrated far field microphones are equipped with advanced ambient noise reduction and echo cancellation. This provides a clear voice capture up to 8 metres and removes the unwanted sounds from the microphone signal. Compatible with Skype and voice recognition technologies like Microsoft Cortana and Google Assistant.
CTOUCH offers free over-the-air-updates for the latest firmware, as well as the option for upgrading the OS, both software and hardware in the future. Furthermore, the modular open pluggable specification (OPS) Slot-in makes the Laser Nova a highly flexible solution supporting learning institutes specific applications and future performance upgrades. Laser Nova also offers Mobile-Device-Management enabling and a convenient Wake-on-LAN standard to control devices from a remote location. The low energy A+ energy label is a one of a kind benefit for an interactive touch screen used as heavily as is in an education setting. Topped off by the free Priority Care service programme and the up to 7-year warranty, CTOUCH reduces the cost of ownership to one of the lowest in the market. Laser Nova comes in screen sizes 65, 75 and 86 inch and is expected to be commercially available in Europe as of September 2018.
