Midwich has appointed two “Mental Health First Aiders” as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting employees and promoting good mental health.

The distributor – with presence in UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Benelux, Iberia and Australasia –  believes the mental health of its employees is a key component to the company’s success.

Lesa Orford, HR manager and Simon Evetts, head of UK facilities and health and safety (both based at the Midwich head office) have both attended a course to qualify as “Mental Health First Aiders” for the company.

In a joint statement, they said: “Following our successful completion of the course, we both feel confident that we’re able to spot the early signs of a mental health issue, feel confident in how to offer and provide initial help to a person experiencing a mental health issue and guide them towards appropriate treatment and other sources of help.”
