Noken, Porcelanosa Grupo’s bathroom brand, created the FLO·W Experience with a clear goal: to show what the bathroom of the future could look and feel like—not through a conventional product display, but through an immersive, sensory and personalised experience. Created within Noken’s showroom at Porcelanosa Grupo’s headquarters in Vila-real, Castellón, the project was conceived around the idea of “Future Living of Wellness”: a vision combining design, wellbeing, sustainability, smart living, connected health and intelligent devices in the bathroom environment. The challenge was ambitious: to transform a product showroom into a space capable of responding to each visitor. Achieving this required architecture, audiovisual content, displays, sound, dynamic lighting, sensors, NFC, automation, water, smart mirrors, digital interfaces and artificial intelligence to operate as one seamless experience.
nsign Managed Solutions acted as the project’s audiovisual technology integrator. It also supplied and installed the hardware and deployed its CMS platform to manage and synchronise the space’s digital content layer. The solution was developed in collaboration with the Noken team and Loxone, whose platform handled the showroom’s automation and physical control, including access, lighting, water and other technical systems. “FLO·W Experience was an extremely ambitious undertaking for Noken: transforming the showroom into an immersive experience capable of expressing our vision for the bathroom of the future,” says David Monzón of Noken. “Working with nsign was crucial to coordinating the space’s audiovisual layer and ensuring that imagery, sound, content and personalised interaction operated in sync as part of a seamless visitor journey.” The result is an experience in which technology is not presented as a standalone feature but woven into the narrative of the space. Visitors do not simply look at screens: they trigger scenes, receive personalised content and experience how the bathroom can become a connected, intuitive environment designed around wellbeing.
The experience begins before visitors even enter the space. Each sales representative or host uses a personalised NFC card that identifies them and activates a sequence tailored to their profile and language. From that point onwards, the system launches a personalised welcome and coordinates content, lighting, sound and other audiovisual elements. The voiceover can be delivered in the selected language, while the different stages of the journey are activated through NFC touchpoints, sensors and physical controls. This logic allows the visit to operate as a guided demonstration without relying on voice commands or visible interfaces that might disrupt the flow of the group. The host leads the experience naturally, and the space responds to their actions.
One of the project’s defining features is the integration between the nsign CMS and the Loxone automation platform. Loxone centralises the physical aspects of the experience, including access, lighting, water and other technical systems. nsign manages and delivers the audiovisual content through its media players, coordinating video, imagery, sound and digital scenes across the showroom’s various display surfaces. This integration means that a physical action—presenting an NFC card, triggering a sensor or selecting a mode from an integrated control—can initiate a specific audiovisual response. This might involve changing the content, activating a scene, adjusting the lighting, playing an audio cue or altering the overall ambience.
In total, a network of nsign players drives ten display endpoints, including a transparent display, concealed mirror screens, LED displays used as digital windows, a large, curved LED screen in the bath area and a projector for atmospheric effects. The visitor journey is divided into a series of zones demonstrating how the bathroom can evolve into an intelligent ecosystem. In the washbasin area, three 32-inch displays concealed behind two-way mirror glass transform the mirrors into personal information interfaces. The system can show calendar information, music, weather forecasts, sleep scores, heart rate, Body Battery and water-consumption data. The experience simulates a morning routine in which the space not only supports the user but also brings together relevant information to help them start the day. On either side, two large-format LED displays act as digital windows, creating a sense of openness onto an outdoor environment through audiovisual content such as sunrise sequences. Rather than serving as conventional communication screens, they become architectural elements that change how the space is perceived.
The shower area features one of the installation’s most striking elements: a transparent self-adhesive Unilumin LED display applied directly to the glass, allowing the host to select different operating modes. Options include Eco/Waterforest, Relax and Activation. Interacting with the display and its sensors changes both the audiovisual content and the physical behaviour of the shower, adapting the experience associated with the water. Here, digital signage ceases to be a broadcast medium and becomes an interactive interface connecting content, product and environment.
In the dressing area, a 43-inch LCD display presents AI-generated content with personalised outfit suggestions for the host. This scene extends the bathroom concept into the wider world of smart living, positioning the space as part of a connected domestic routine that supports the user at different points throughout the day. The bath area features a large Absen LED display measuring approximately 2.5 by 2 metres and installed with a subtle curve to heighten the sense of immersion. Using a Loxone Touch Pure Flex Tree control integrated into the bath itself, the host can choose between different modes, including Cinema, Music and Relax. Each option activates coordinated content, lighting and ambience. The installation is completed by subtle atmospheric projection from a 5,000-lumen Optoma Full HD projector, adding a further visual layer to the space. “One of the FLO·W Experience’s main achievements is that visitors never see the technological complexity behind it,” explains Sergio Soriano, Sales Director AV at nsign Managed Solutions. “Behind the experience are specialist displays, media players, sensors, NFC, automation, programming, lighting, sound, HTML interfaces and building control. Yet the interaction remains simple for the user: a zone is activated, the space responds and the story moves forward.”
This natural interaction was essential for Noken. The company wanted technology to support the design and the products rather than compete with them, helping to convey a more emotional and intuitive vision of the bathroom of the future. “One of the project’s greatest achievements has been keeping all that technological complexity hidden behind an intuitive and emotional experience. Visitors do not perceive FLO·W as a product exhibition, but as a real demonstration of how design, technology and wellbeing can come together to imagine the bathroom of the future,” adds David Monzón. The collaboration between Noken, nsign and Loxone created an experience in which every element plays a role in the wider narrative. Noken led the overall concept, art direction, construction of the space and integration of its products. Loxone provided the automation platform governing the physical response of the environment. nsign integrated the audiovisual and content layer, ensuring that every display, player and digital sequence was triggered in sync with the experience.
The FLO·W Experience demonstrates how branded environments can evolve beyond conventional product displays. Instead of explaining the smart bathroom through catalogues, standalone videos or isolated demonstrations, Noken delivers a complete experience in which architects, interior designers, distributors, hotel groups, foodservice operators and other professional visitors can see and feel how a connected bathroom environment might work. The project makes complex concepts—including connected health, water efficiency, personalisation, wellness, smart devices, building automation and artificial intelligence—tangible and memorable. At the same time, it reinforces the positioning of Noken and Porcelanosa Grupo as leaders in design, innovation and wellbeing within the premium interiors market.
For nsign, the project illustrates the natural evolution of digital signage towards experiences that are more interactive, context-aware and connected to the physical environment. Its CMS does more than play content: it integrates with third-party systems, responds to events, orchestrates scenes and makes digital content an active part of the visitor journey. “The FLO·W Experience turns the showroom into a living environment: a space where technology never takes over, but supports; where screens do not interrupt, but blend in; and where visitors do not simply observe a vision of the bathroom of the future—they experience it,” concludes Sergio Soriano of nsign Managed Solutions.
