Women in AV/IT (WAVIT) is kicking off October with a triple threat of opportunities designed to help its community connect, grow and recharge. From professional mentorship and leadership wellness to a community-wide walking challenge, WAVIT is bringing its mission to life through three interactive initiatives:

WAVIT Mentorship: make your connection, de-stressed: lower stress. lead better. perform stronger., and the ‘Walk with WAVIT challenge.’

    1. Make your connection: WAVIT mentorship live walk-through: On Thursday, October 1 at 9:00 a.m. PT, WAVIT will host WAVIT Mentorship: Make your connection, an interactive activation introducing members to the reimagined Wave of Influence mentorship program. Rather than simply talking about mentorship, WAVIT will show attendees how to make it happen. The session will include a live walk-through of the program and Upnotch platform, helping participants learn how to build their profile, discover potential connections and begin creating a professional network tailored to their goals. The Wave of Influence program takes a flexible, community-driven approach to mentorship, giving women across AV and IT opportunities to connect with mentors, peers and collaborators throughout their careers.
    1. Get De-Stressed

On Thursday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET, WAVIT turns its attention to workplace wellness with De-Stressed: Lower Stress. Lead Better. Perform Stronger.

Featuring globally recognised speaker, best-selling author and Emergent Performance Solutions CEO Jen Stanford, the webinar will explore how professionals can recognize stress before it becomes overwhelm, apply practical strategies to restore energy and create healthier environments where people can

    perform at their best.

Timed ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 10, the session supports WAVIT’s broader commitment to the physical and mental well-being of women and professionals throughout AV/IT.

    Walk With WAVIT

Throughout October, WAVIT is also encouraging the industry to get up, get outside and Walk With WAVIT. Participants can join the Walk With WAVIT Strava group, log their miles and share photos and updates on LinkedIn using Walk With WAVIT. Members are encouraged to challenge colleagues and friends to join them, while WAVIT sponsors and partner companies can bring the challenge into their own organisations as an employee wellness initiative. Whether it’s making a new professional connection, finding better ways to manage stress or simply logging a few more miles, WAVIT is making October about taking meaningful steps forward together.
