The Sternenbrücke children’s and youth hospice in Hamburg has improved patient care with the installation of 30 Philips MediaSuite TVs, providing personalized entertainment and shared experiences for families.
Opened in 2003, the hospice focuses on supporting children and young adults with life-shortening illnesses. Faced with an outdated TV system, the hospice partnered with AVARA and PPDS to enhance their entertainment offerings.
The new TVs, ranging from 32 to 55 inches, were strategically placed in both private and communal areas to ensure barrier-free access to various entertainment options like films, radio, and games. AVARA’s system allows easy navigation and centralized management of the TVs, streamlining operations for staff.
Additionally, a dedicated information portal was integrated for parents, featuring hospital updates and essential information. This modernization has created a comforting atmosphere for patients and families. Peer Gent, from the hospice management, expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the joy the new system brings to guests.
